# EchoThread

> EchoThread is a privacy-first comment platform for blogs, documentation sites, and websites. It provides a lightweight embeddable widget (~37 KB gzipped), threaded comments, emoji reactions, image attachments, Open Graph link previews, moderation workflows, comment import/export, and spam filtering — with no advertising and no cross-site tracking.

EchoThread is operated by EchoThread (echothread.io). The product is in beta and free during the beta period. Site owners embed comments by adding a two-line snippet (a `<div id="echothread">` placeholder plus the widget `<script>` tag) before their closing `</body>` tag. Authentication uses email magic links or Google OAuth.
